Far West Security Patrol

The Far West Security Patrol is a volunteer-based Citizens Radio Patrol group operating in Detroit’s Far West neighborhood.

What We Do

We serve as the “eyes and ears” for the Detroit Police Department (DPD), enhancing community safety by monitoring and reporting suspicious activities.

Volunteers can patrol for as little as one hour per month or several hours multiple times per month.

Our Boundaries

  • North: Meadow Park
  • South: Warren Ave.
  • East: Parkland / Rouge Park
  • West: West Parkway / city limit

To join the Far West Security Patrol, you will need to fill out an application form and undergo a background check conducted by the Detroit Police Department.
